Public Television Production Features Saving Tape Film Transfers

Twin Cities Public Television recently premiered a TPT co-production titled “Women Serving in War”. The program features three generations of Minnesota’s military women who share their stories of service from World War II to Vietnam to Afghanistan. Produced with MN Dept of Veterans Affairs.

Producer Stephanie Hallen, worked with Saving Tape Media Conversion to digitize a portion of the source material used in the production – namely 35mm slides and 8mm movie film.  The 35mm slides were scanned to .jpeg format, utilizing digital dust and scratch reduction to maximize the image quality for incorporation into the production timeline. The 8mm film was cleaned and repaired, then scanned in high definition, utilizing progressive frame-by-frame technology.
